5 days to the north and back

Its the annual ass-breaking-8-hour-coach-sitting-event aka cny where the family travels up north, back to the hometown of sitiawan, perak.
Away from the bustling city lights and back to traditional kampung life of internetless days where ppl talk face to face instead of facebook, twitter or msn, wooden planks ceiling and sidewalls instead of 13 storey high concrete hdb housing, durian, cocoa, ranbutan trees surrounding the one storey house instead of multi-story carpark and sheltered walkways.
Argh... if only simple life was everywhere.
I even witnessed a 2 hr electricity breakdown where the family just sat around the candle chilling. But decided to upload this photo due to the lighting effect. Thats the dinning table btw.
Its great to see the extended family after 1 whole year and rekindle some of the love lost. Every year I tell myself i should treasure this relationship becos its god-given not by choice but fate, but every year things happen the same as the year before - hes the whose whose son, nothing more than just a yearly meet up extended family member, I guess we've all grown too used to seeing each other once a year. maybe this means i should try harder in this aspect simply becos they are family, bounded by blood.
On the same note i have a vision of how my future family will be like, not too independent, very traditional with lotsa communication and noise.
