Xmas of choice?
Wednesday, December 23, 2009
and here it is once again, the holy month of december where ppl exchange gifts and share the season of love, forgive and forget and move on to a new year.
I think I had not bought a single christmas gift for the passed 3 years. ok i lied, maybe I did, but those didnt originated from the bottom of my heart, maybe due to company obligations or that I was in a situation where I simply had to, to stay status quo.
This year its kinda different, how so im not really sure, but if i were asked which is the year which changed your life, this year could have been the definitive one. Just to name a few happenings, this was the year of the breakups... here there everywhere everyone is breaking up, myself not spared, I've also started my first step in society where I realized that 15 years of classroom preparation dun do shit, it in fact kills you, you basically just need a cowboy hat. All in all one thing im definately grateful for is the opportunities i've been given.
This was also the first time i was asked for a christmas gift by my students. i guess i must be doing something right this time round to be requested a gift from. So that got me really searching for a "meaningful" gift for two young things I would qualify as my kids, and yes the paternal instinct is acting up! it also got me thinking back to the basics of xmas. its a season for sharing and im sure a simple gift for kids less than half my age would had meant a world to them.
PS : merry xmas my friends, and sisters island here i come!
