Once again contemplating on the life beyond. . . as the date draws nearer, it dawns upon me that I’ve not gained much during the 2 years here, not much quantifiable that is. Thou there are some recommendable events like winning a. inter-branch badminton tournament (there was no trophy nor was there any monetary reward, the prize was 3 pairs of white socks, striped at the top, typically those wore by uncles at sport halls selling at 3 packets of 3 pairs at $10, it everyone’s guess the magnitude of the event or healthy lifestyle campaign they say) b. having very good relationships with the aunties c. gained much knowledge from reading all those investment books d. learnt how to play ping pong adequately e. found mates for regular soccer at the cage e. the degree, it definitely helps to start a convo ranging from whether benitez will keep the same lineout for the next match to how the cpf ruling will affect the money we can spent in OA but none of the above can quite wow a random interviewer asking “ so what have u been doing or leant during ur time in ns?

This brings me to another point, insurance. So does being fit, healthy, passionate about sports insure u a job? No quite true to most, absolutely rubbish to some and only a minor few who look at the finer things in life might agree with you.

Now even a reasonable degree dosen guarantee a 3k job, wat say you about passion or how u can curl a corner kick into goal

We are just humans, just trying to make the best bet be it taking up a degree, choosing this job over the other, wearing what to the first interview, or wat flower to give on valentines day.

Life’s just a bet aint it?
