Once again contemplating on the life beyond. . . as the date draws nearer, it dawns upon me that I’ve not gained much during the 2 years here, not much quantifiable that is. Thou there are some recommendable events like winning a. inter-branch badminton tournament (there was no trophy nor was there any monetary reward, the prize was 3 pairs of white socks, striped at the top, typically those wore by uncles at sport halls selling at 3 packets of 3 pairs at $10, it everyone’s guess the magnitude of the event or healthy lifestyle campaign they say) b. having very good relationships with the aunties c. gained much knowledge from reading all those investment books d. learnt how to play ping pong adequately e. found mates for regular soccer at the cage e. the degree, it definitely helps to start a convo ranging from whether benitez will keep the same lineout for the next match to how the cpf ruling will affect the money we can spent in OA but none of the above can quite wow a random interviewer asking “ so what have u been doing or leant during ur time in ns?
This brings me to another point, insurance. So does being fit, healthy, passionate about sports insure u a job? No quite true to most, absolutely rubbish to some and only a minor few who look at the finer things in life might agree with you.
Now even a reasonable degree dosen guarantee a 3k job, wat say you about passion or how u can curl a corner kick into goal
We are just humans, just trying to make the best bet be it taking up a degree, choosing this job over the other, wearing what to the first interview, or wat flower to give on valentines day.
Life’s just a bet aint it?

It’s Mondays once again, nothing to look forward to, it’ll be nice to fastforward to 4 days later, the weekends.
It dosen help when the last weekend was filled with winning mahjongs, the regular soccer, morning sleep-ins, pasar malam food, X-men 2 on channel 5, the missing puzzle would be some red along the way.
Well, its just 4 more days to the next weekend, 9 days to msia,16 days to pay day and finally, 50+ working days to ORD.
Cant wait, cant wait.
On the other hand, life is all about waiting isn it?
Patience or so they name it.

Finally some headway. Details furnished. And thus appeased the crowd, or not.
sometimes too much of something allows us or should i say pampers us to take it for granted, governance, any bells ringing? guess not, thats why this is a boring place to visit.
Not that im pro-gahmen or swayed the other side, the decision makers generally make gd calls, (historically too, thou its less than a lifetime, maybe half of it) in protecting our stability and ultimately our sovereignty.
They make such gd calls that we sometimes dun see the reason nor the desperation for it. But as they always say "Its better to be safe then sorry". Right, the Singapore way.
Just take a look at the other side of the continent where the recent problem arise, it is rather reaction that prevention, something we so frequently preach to avoid and yet its able to reach center stage right under their noses.
But anyway, it sure looks like shopping time

finally, someones standing out to clear the mess. not that it was heroic, it was just necessary becos and wat a mess it was, and guess who started it?
as always, its until the dire moments before some solutions are being formed, cos if its not serious enough, no one will do shit or give a shit. to think about it, its not even a solution, its just like a 4D ticket, hoping to get it right, solution straight from the text book, nothing really tangible or spectacular.
and pls stop giving the world a hard time with all ur dreamy ideas and assumptions. apparently it has always been proven wrong ranging from the war, to budget deficit and now the subprime
instead we should really start thinking about Asia. let Asia call the shots. let it be here, let the decision making lie with ppl who do not make uncertain decisions, with ppl having a wife and kids back at home that they so wanna protect, with ppl who dare to make the weirdest calls or strangest decisions which from time to time have proven right and exceptional.
ranging from public housing, to education, to basic hygiene, to security, to governance, bribery, racial cohesion, transportation, so much so much that seems from Pandora's box are proven right and people enjoying these benefits.
someday, maybe in 40 yrs Singapore will reign.
just imagine how much we've grown since independence 43 yrs ago. just give it another 43 and we shall see.
we shall see.

I feel this sense of contentment thou No, I did not strike TOTO or 4D, and Yes, I still wish I have more money, much much more.
Satisfied with the weekly mahjongs and red like theres no need for thought for career projection. Happy with the weekly Sunday soccer workout thou the bulging tummy’s still expanding. Comfortable with the pace of work and study as if I still have the stamina to carry on for a long while.
It must be the birthday talking, feeling like a year older should slow down.

To me the writers are like peasants, they are the ones who work the hardest, sweat the most but being paid one of the least.( but im not sure if they really earn that little as so proclaimed)
On another hand, they are the easily replaceable people – “if ur’re not willing to take this much for the script that you’re writing, I can always find an alternative script writer who is willing to accept this pay”
But actors on the other hand are not so easily replaceable, lets take a local example” remember a favorite Chinese serial “Don’t worry, be happy, 敢敢做个开心人”
After season 1, quan yi feng went to quarrel with someone and was replaced, thou the replacement wasnt bad at all, the show just dosen’t seem as nice as before.
In US’s case, all the alternatives have been used up and now they are ganging up against the employers.
Just like a glamorized factory worker.

For good or greater good.
In the cutthroat business scene, scarcity is the norm for ppl who are able to comprehend “for greater good”
The higher one climbs on the ladder, the harder he tries to prevent himself from falling. A slight miscalculation could shake his foundation resulting in mishap. So he’ll take smaller steps with greater caution with occasional peaks down to admire the scenic view above ground zero.
He knows hes not struggling, accompanied with pride and prejudice, hes rather proud of himself having achieved thus far. His priority has shifted tremendously yet unknowingly from “I want to achieve….” to “I need to preserve …..”
You get the point.
But that’s not the case for Eric R Dinallo.
Caught the story on todays BT, pg 18, you can catch it here

Blind or be blinded.
It really depends on one’s perspective to perceive, believe or to take a road less traveled risking the unknown.
SIA’s deal to buy a minority share in China Eastern Airline was called off due to wat CEA’s chairman deemed unstandardised procedures by some competitors in the industry.
So wats the unstandardised procedures?
Rival company Air China simply offered more money and 4 out of the 5 shareholders voted down the SG – CHN deal.
Maybe its country’s security act, maybe its pure business sense, maybe its just pride, maybe its fear, maybe its many others, maybe not.
Lets just leave it as it is.

Its 08, and due for a resolution. Somehow I feel everyone should only be granted one resolution no matter how many they wished for, it feels extravagant and a tad misgiving to have all fulfilled, I dunno why I feel this way, but it feels right, so that’s tt.
Its kinda crap if the resolution is too easily achieved, as crap as telling yourself you are making headways in dieting by eating one less fries from the whole pack in mcdonalds.
This year, I’ll skip making it hard but achievable, instead shall make it far-fetched enough that im suppose to dream about it.
Here goes…
I wanna retire financially yet able focus and not compromising on finer things in life.
Sounds nice right, like straight out of a textbook or something, maybe I should put it in my cv under job objective,
ha…

one of the main selling point is the 3.5mm AV rack. This means it can be connected with any earphones to this phone, because 3.5mm AV Rack is the normal one we use, from the days of fm receivers, to mp3 players and most importantly not being constricted to just nokia ear pieces.
This also means that it can be connected to any output (hi-fi, computer speaker, so on….) as long as it fits the 3.5mm AV rack.
The main point…
Now, we can connect audio, what about video???
No more carrying of DVDs, music CDs, everything can be stored in the gadget which has become an indispensable part of our daily lives.
No more listening of boring songs at friend’s place,
We can even use that to test HDTV’s before buying them (dun you think all the HDTVs look fantastically sharp when its in the stores?)…
Just to bring it a little further….
If our mrt are fitting with lcd screens like grassland coaches, woot…. No more stupid commercials, its Heroes to and from work, we can even finish one movie, no more mundane waiting, not will people interested in reading Today, they can simply download it and play it, isn it always better with ppl reading it out, den to read it yourself.
Dosen it bring a new meaning to”can’t wait to go home”
Hopefully, by that time STI has already hit 5000 pts
