New Directions

I used to be slightly minded minded, ok.... im sorry, i admit im more than slightly money minded.

But after stepping into society for 4 yrs? i realized it aint all about money anymore, money is a "more" tool.

i.e. if you are happy ALREADY, money makes you more happy, if you are a drunkard, money makes you drink more, on the flipside, if you are happy already, it makes you enjoy life to the fullness... you get my gist.

Anyway, while in NS and earning a meager pay of $800/mth, I used to think to myself "cant wait to start working in the corporate world, any kind of job would easily get me twice the amount i am getting now, and then i'll go " imagine the things i could buy, the life i would lead instead of now""

And so, I stepped into the corporate world very much money minded, trying to earn the most i could conjure. Little did I know what I got myself into.

Literally, and yes, i emphasize again, LITERALLY - i've stepped onto the Hamster Wheel, aka the rat race, trying to come up on top, running the Hamster Wheel trying to achieve the "socially conditioned" understanding that more is better, keep trying to outrun the wheel, thinking if I push a lil harder, work a lil harder, put in that extra 1-2 hours, I'll get on top of the wheel and be in control, be ahead, and finally live the life I truly wanted.... how wrong was I.

People always think the only way to get out of the wheel is to climb faster, to push harder - to faster reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but little did we realize that while traveling trying to reach your pot of gold, you are effectively still running, and you need stamina for running, why? because its not gonna be short, exactly how long you may ask .... 5 years, 10 years, 15? all depending on your income level, and imagine 15 years of constant struggling, fitting tooth to nail just to get ahead... how tough it would be.

But the honest truth is that - With that mentality, you never run-out / outrun the rat race.

The only way (my own digression) is to just stop running it not by out running it, or climb above it, but realizing that it all is an illusion. The illusion that you are going to out run it. The illusion that to be able to out-run it is essentially an illusion.

Let me repeat - The ILLUSION that you CAN outrun the race is actually an ILLUSION.

If you cant process, keep reading the capitalized words till you get it.

Its all an illusion, the faster you realize its an illusion, the faster you realize you are not able to control life itself.

Then how you may ask?

Relinquishing control is the key here - not trying to reign it in, but rather let it go.

On the same note, understanding that life will run its course one way or another, with your control or not, life goes on.

And the way to act to be abreast of it all : open yourself to a full awareness of your surroundings and yourself. Only then can you use the environment to propel you through life, rather than fight them or try to master them or even pretend they aren't there.

Adios my friends.
