We got a new president, and life goes on
Sunday, August 28, 2011
It seems like a big thing the Presidential Election 2011. Its been donkey years since we get to elect a president.
But strangely after the GE 2011 - a national event that got everyone talking and unified us in that way, nothing seems to be as big anymore, not even this PE.
Strangely it seemed after putting so much more into the last GE, reading onto the manifestos of each party, understand them, going to rallies, debating them - "living it", cant bring myself to "liven up" this PE.
To me, honestly, the biggest thing that came from this PE was that the schools were used as a polling station so my weekends which were usually taken up by badminton coaching were all free. 2 days of pure nothingness. im soooooo much more into "living" this nothingness that the results of the PE.
Because, as the title goes - We got a new president, and life goes on.

A blast from the small little things in life
Tuesday, August 16, 2011
Yes its been fantastically long! fantastic in a way im not bounded to be here, no offense but living a life a slight distance away from the web is more of actually "living a life". But on the same note, Gen Y-rians (in my case Gen X-Y) can never truly stray away from the web. If we ever move away, its like a holiday, an internship, a stint, we may leave(for a short while), but will never forget to come back.
You get my gist... The love hate relationship of a Gen Y and the intrawebs. Thats a story for another day.
I was on the papers while salivating my home made chicken katsu don while this article "Underground street theatre" Life 10 caught my eye.
In short its about 2 degree holders in US whom are performing art / acting in a subway! Yes in a Subway!, acting out "Romeo and Juliet" and other Shakespeare acts. The key is that they are aged 27 and 29. Late 20s... not 50s when you more or less dun have much of a choice to do things you want to do.
Imagine something like that happening in Singapore, on a SMRT train cabin...
Ppl will sure go :
"siao ar... no space already, act what artsy"
"better move away, scarly terrorist attack"
"maybe got camera crew around, better dun anyhow react and lose face"
Ppl! can we all let loose a little...
Well, the point is this - Socially Conditioning.
I guessed ive reached a point where I was socially conditioned enough to know you have to break away from it.
Here i go again - Socially Conditioned enough-ed, to know I have to break away from it.
From all the Money, the needs, the wants, the face values, the climbing of social ladders, the pre-requisites or graduations...
All in a bid to be daring enough to make a choice in the rhythm of "nobody can take this away from me"
Till you see me here again... I wish you all - courage to do what you really want to do.
