ad hoc diary styled entry

hi ladies and gentlemen. i was lazy to write something but wanna keep ur informed. so i decided to just put a diary style post which i wrote for fun yesterday night. the entry is about wat had happened yesterdae 28th sep. so understand as much as u can. photos will come in the next entry.


28th sep

free day at fisherman’s cove, doing team bonding with the fellow hgdp ppl.
Everything was fun with lotsa meanings behind every single action which was used in every game. Althought I had played most of these games before in my younger days, I didn’t learn as much as today. At least to the extent that it made perfect sense when the coaches explained it after the games.

Games go as the following

Caterpillar
Newspaper on sand
Paper planes
Passing marbles
Managers, workers, supervisors, observers
Passing of rope

As a captain, I think I should organize such activities in the future. Hopefully when I organize such activitites, the people are as vocal and as active as this bunch of people.

As a sporean, I feel that we sporeans are not as expressive and vocal and strong. From a general point of view, they are so willing to answer, show that they have something in them, trying to be different with the words they use and speaking out loud, daring to say.. on the other hand, if they didn’t have these qualities, they might not have been chosen to be management trainees.

Hopefully sporeans would strive and perform like that in the future.

To some extent, the communication barrier is disturbing and disruptive to the progress of me fitting in, but on another hand, it was me who choose to withdrew from being participative and keeping quiet at the start.

Isn this who I am not? Didn’t understand why did I choose to do that, not daring to present the my usual self. Is it because Im afraid that I wun fit in? scare that my decisions are being criticized. Something I should improve on.

Personnal feeling, I think that the Indian plans are structural very sound, but down to the everyday and down to earth doing of these stuffs, its where the flaws start to come in. being over aggressive or maybe im too soft, being too dictatoring of that I choose to keep quiet and compromise.

Ultimately it was a fun day.

firstly. happy birthday to mr fit and handsome winston tan kah loon and ever pretty and beautiful mandy.

my hp is incoming call free. so can call anytime. my number is 91 9840530467. the 91 infront is india code. if sms, i think have to put 91 also.



these other 3 are my room mates. the one on the left is deepu, the one on my left is sudeep and on the extreme right is presad. deepu is the one i said is kinda cute but this picture may not bring out tt much maybe the next one might be more exciting.

sudeep is the one whose father is the striker cum captain of the 70s east bengal team. hes the youngest out of them aged at 21 only. all of them already had a degree, im a poly student and yet im earning nearly 2 times more then them, bu tong ren, bu tong ming.

when i first saw presad, he has this typical indian face where around every corner, u'll see a presad look-alike. and out of all these 3, hes the darkest so ur have to try harder to see his eye brows and features. btw, he plays soccer and is also a striker. he even played professional cricket for a local club for 1 yr. zai... dare to try mentality. maybe in his case its try and failed, but at least he tried, thats wats most important.


this photo should be much clearer. for this clear photo to be taken we have to on those sec sch kinda projector and flash onto them so that presad's brows and moustache are for once distinguished. to the indians, chinese people come from china onli. the first thing they will ask if that if mi and rui are from china. wtd, when we look at indians, we also think that they are from india.

to them, chinese ppl must know kung fu or karate or at least some kinda martial arts thing. i think its the bad influence of chinese shows and bruce lee's movie. this is the sequence of how they will ask their questions
1. are u from china
2. do you know kung fu
3. have u heard of bruce lee or jackie chan
4. do u know that u look like jackie chan, are u his brother of something.
thats the few common questions that they asked mi. is my nose tt big or my face that many holes.



this lady here is chetali. the babes of the gal's department. although traditionally in our sporean mindset, white indians are nicer, but actually black ones look good too. althought its hard to see her feastures, she is one. shes not photogenic but trust me, the real and live one is much better. a salsa dancer with a nice figure, guys u can go imagine and fantasize.

The uniform for the first 2 weeks at front desk(reception) and housekeeping


will keep ur updated when were wearing the 3rd wk uniform, the cook's code with the tall hat and finally the 4th wk the banquet waiter



this is the plate which we have our meals everyday. beri prison like. the food in this pic is actually one of the best served with 2 choices of meat and serveral pieces of each type. meat here is expensive so most of our meals in the hotel canteen onli have 1 pathetic piece of meat. sad.. even those super niao cai fan stalls will give at least 2 piece lor.

due to the price of meat, most of our meals are vegetarian. maybe mi and rui did too much sinful things tt tis trip to india, thats y.


this is the tsunami affected area. u see 2 floor houses on the background, the waters reached that level, scary.


this is the result of the tsunami. uncleared after mths. where have all the funds gone? all the spore, funds, american prayers? maybe its just another nkf scam.

heres the schedule of my stay in chennai

1st wk(which is now till tis sunday) - front desk, this referrs to receptionist and cashier, admin those kinda jobs

2nd wk - housekeeping (chaimbermaid)

3rd wk - kitchen

4th wk - F and B (banquet)




this is sudip. hes the 21 yr old cook of the house. the thing tt hes cooking is chappati. hes pan frying it at the moment. btw, hes father is the captain and striker of east bengal in the 70s. surely some of ur heard of east bengal right. can u imagine his father? he plays the stiker and told me that during a standard match, he had curled the ball into the net from a corner kick once.

its been 2 weeks since i've reached tis place.

things are doing alrite here. i'll make tis entry an informative one for those who dunno about indian culture.

1. indians generally have thier dinner at 930pm in the night, they eat so much that my apetite is equal or smaller den that of a female indian. not all indians eat rice, some take chapati as rice. btw, chapati is wat we in singapore call prata but its not fried with oil. the chapati have 2 ingredients, wheat flour and water. upon mixing in into dough form, they roll if round and pan fry it without any oil. the first time i saw them cook chapati, i was shocked. after pan roasting it, they put it on the stove without the pan right about the fire on the black black hold pan thing.

2. when taking, they generally shake their heads. not nodding, not sideways, but 45degrees to the left den to the right. so when ur talking to them, we might feel that they dun understand when they shake their head, which is not the case. but when they realli do not understand, they also shake thier heads, that is to acknowledge that they heard wat u have said. (arn the indians clever, came out with a way to hide their knowledge or stupidity. lol)

3. theres is actually arranged marraige here. when means when they reach the suitable age, they just get married to whoever. they dunno the person but just get married with him/her (they say tt if u marry the one u love u have a certain expectation and will expect more. but when u have arranged marriage with someone, u have to make do with wat u have and den go on and live on with it. to them it, it seems like the latter is the often chosen one even till now.)
i feel that they treat it like a job, as long as u perform wat u need to perform, u'll get ur pay(in the case of a job, maybe to them, its staying married) but i dunno about the happily ever after part.

first indian air

before reaching here, theres already a sense of uncertainy following within, the gut feeling escalated when we saw this during our flight. . .

basically, the accomodations here is like pre army training camp. there is no water heater, we need to fill up pails of water just in case theres a black out or power failure while we're bathing. im basically bathing like the 60s, use small bucket to pour water onto ourselves. share the apartment with 3 other indian male room mates(equilvalent to our 4room flat in spore). tell ur more about them on the next entry, cos the photos are no in the com now.


this is my kitchen and tis is how we get our daily water. retro right, so india...


tis is my bed. im currently sharing the room with another indian. hes called deepu, rui says hes kinda cute, but i think so too. will show ur when i have the chance.

this is my kitchen. tts the fridge tt ur seeing at my place.

the is the only table cum iron pad cum dinner table cum my laptop desk. hi sub woofer behind is the onli spore thing tts in my place.
